Harvey “Tex Thomas” Young is a Texas songwriter and musician. His band, the Danglin’ Wranglers, left their mark on the Austin music scene starting in the 1980s, with ten-year runs at iconic establishments like Hut’s Hamburgers, the Continental Club, and Guero’s Taco Bar.

Harvey goes by many names. Tex Thomas, Tommy, HT, Tex, Rex, and the Rawhide Messiah, to name a few. He has albums titled under half as many. Over the years, he’s worked alongside many great artists from his partner Danny Levin to recent collaborations with rising star Joe Pug, and many more including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Junior Brown, “Blue” Lou Marini, Larry Willis, Asleep at the Wheel, Chris O’Connell, RC Banks, Tomas Ramirez, and the late, great Barry “Frosty” Smith.
